This venomous pit viper is found in Central and South America.
They use their tongue to detect the chemical trail of a potential mate.
They range in color, with green and yellow being most common.
Heat pits, located just below their eyes, give them a sixth sense when hunting.
If seen in the wild, they deserve our distance and respect.
