Betty Rose is a "cattoo" artist—a cattoo being a tattoo of a cat. The first cattoo she made is on her husband's leg, and since that piece she's gone from making cattoos sporadically to doing them on a weekly basis. Rose knows how important memorializing pets means to her clients—she did it with Patches, her childhood cat. Shot by
Emily Sheskin, this short film is part of the
Sidekick Series, a short web-doc series dedicated to adopted pets and those who adopt them.
The
Short Film Showcase spotlights exceptional short videos created by filmmakers from around the web and selected by National Geographic editors. We look for work that affirms National Geographic's belief in the power of science, exploration, and storytelling to change the world. The filmmakers created the content presented, and the opinions expressed are their own, not those of National Geographic Partners.
