“Hope is the heaviest weight a man can carry.” These words, written by Raimundo Arruda Sobrinho, talk about his life living on the streets of Brazil. Passerby Shalla Monteiro befriended Sobrinho and wanted to share his writings with the world, so she began posting them on
Facebook. Sobrinho soon gained a following and was able to reunite with his family. In this short film from filmmaker Michael Marantz, we see the true power of social media as this homeless poet moves off the streets and achieves his dreams of publishing a book of his work.
