In Savute, Botswana, the main source of water is an erratic water channel that mysteriously stops flowing for decades at a time. Now the water channel is beginning to show signs of drying up again, putting immense pressure on the wildlife in the area and raising the stakes for survival. Filmmaker Brad Bestelink wanted to document the coming challenges and create a documentary series that follows the main predator groups in Savute as they battle for survival. He takes the stage to share the story behind his vision for creating Savage Kingdom and what it was like living in the wild filming lions, hyenas, wild dogs, and leopards.
