June 26, 2018 - A team of explorers set off for unknown parts of the Sistema Huautla in Mexico. The Sistema Huautla is the deepest cave system in the Western Hemisphere and is steeped in history. The complexity of the cave system justifies its reputation as perhaps the world’s greatest cave. As the team set off to explore ... there was a torrential downpour ... that raised the water level inside the cave. This increased the difficulty of navigating the cave floor. Despite the dangers, the team was able to discover new passages … and live to tell the tale.
