See How an Artist Reconstructed the Face of Brazil's First Emperor
April 27, 2018 - The face of Brazil's first emperor, Dom Pedro I, has been reconstructed for the first time in 3D. Scientists, working with a graphic designer, constructed the image by studying a photo of Dom Pedro's real skull. His facial features were created using scientific calculations, while his hair and dress were based on paintings of the ruler. A forensic evaluation of the skull revealed the emperor had a broken nose, which was never fixed. Royal descendants report that the reconstruction bares a striking similarity to their family line.
