A Missing Upper Beak Doesn’t Stop This Little Bird From Eating Cake
March 5, 2018 - It takes a lot of self-control to not go for leftover cake. This is a great tit and its beak is missing an upper mandible. Beaks grow like nails. And they wear out with use. That’s why the lower mandible is so long. Soft food, like cake, helps it survive. We like to think it’s celebrating for surviving winter.
