Fly Through a Star-Studded Nebula In a New 3-D Visualization
Jan. 11, 2018 - This is a 3-D visualization of the Orion Nebula. The Orion Nebula is a nearby star-forming region in our Milky Way galaxy. Nebulas are clouds of gas and dust that are scattered across the galaxy. Specialists from NASA have combined visible and infrared images from the Hubble and Spitzer space telescopes to make this fly-through. This is the most detailed multi-wavelength visualization of the Orion Nebula thus far. It was created using scientific imagery and data, and brought to life using some Hollywood magic. This visualization was created as part of an effort to enable the public to really experience the universe.
