Rare Images Show a Baby Wallaby Growing in Mom's Pouch
January 2, 2017 - This tiny newborn wallaby was born, and had to make its way into its mother’s pouch. Zookeepers at Symbio Wildlife Park in Australia captured these extremely rare images of the baby joey growing in its mother's pouch. Wallabies are in the kangaroo family, and babies immediately crawl into the pouch after birth. They remain there for about two months before emerging. Even after leaving the pouch, they still will jump in when threatened.
