World's Oldest Known Wild Bird Lays Egg at 67
January 2, 2017 - At 67, the world's oldest known wild bird has laid another egg. The albatross, named Wisdom, has outlived several mates and raised anywhere from 30 to 35 chicks.
Wisdom and her mate, Akeakamai, return each year to Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument to nest and raise a single chick. While Wisdom is out, her mate protects and sits on the egg.
