Listen to World's Rarest Leopard—Recorded in Wild for First Time
Transcript
For the first time in history, video recorded the sounds of the critically endangered Amur leopard in the wild.
The seven-year-old male named Typhoon made a territorial call in the Kedrovaya Pad Nature Reserve, a combined protected area in the Russian Far East.
The Amur leopard is the rarest of the leopard subspecies.
Today the cats roam in a limited area straddling the Russian-Chinese border.
