Nov. 14, 2017 - One of the oldest known murals in the Americas was damaged by a fire in northern Peru. Dating back more than 4,000 years, the mural was a part of a temple called Ventarrón. The fire damaged 95 percent of the site, including the mural and other artifacts. It may have been started by a nearby controlled burn of sugarcane.
