Sept. 1, 2017 - A cafe in Brooklyn houses an unlikely pairing of cuddly creatures—orphaned kittens and rescued rats. Two rats from a local rescue center help keep the kittens engaged throughout the day. The cafe first tried putting the two species together when one of their kittens was diagnosed with feline leukemia. The kitten had to be isolated from the other cats, so the staff found a friendly rat to keep it company. The pair bonded quickly, leading to the decision to introduce two more rats to the other orphaned kittens. Visitors to the cafe can lounge with the cats, and even adopt them.
