How Much Do You Know About the Deep Sea?
August 24, 2017 - The ocean floor makes up 60% of the Earth’s surface, but most of it has yet to be explored. Very little is known about deep sea creatures and how their lives are interconnected. The deep sea is considered anything more than 200 meters below the surface. Oxford published a study that found scientists know very little about deep sea life. Human activities such as pollution and fishing have resulted in possible lasting damage to marine life in the deep sea. Fragile deep coral gardens are thought to be as important to the ocean as rainforests are to the land.
