June 7, 2017 - Paleoanthropologists digging at a site in Morocco discovered what may be the oldest well-dated
Homo sapiens fossils ever found. The fossilized remains are 300,000 - 350,000 years old. Recent excavations unearthed several human fossils, including a lower jaw and a partial skull. These early humans had modern-looking faces—but their skulls were more elongated than ours. The bones could provide key insight into early human evolution.
