Feb. 24, 2017 - Wildlife rescuers in India encounter a heartbreaking scene when they find a
young sloth bear clinging to its dying mother moments after the animal was electrocuted by poachers. The poachers left a high-voltage trap inside Sanjay National Park which paralyzed the adult bear. The orphan cub, later identified as a male, was taken to the Agra Bear Rescue Facility in Uttar Pradesh to be cared for. Without its mother, the cub is unable to develop the necessary skills to survive in the wild and will likely remain in captivity for the remainder of its life.
