How Does “The Pole-Dancing Rat” Climb So Well?
Dec 22, 2016 - Yet another strange sight on the New York City subway: a rat climbing up a subway pole in the middle of a train. Riding the train on a very early Saturday morning, the rat has been dubbed a "pole-dancer" by the internet. While there was no true pole-dancing involved, rats are incredibly agile and are able to climb vertically on materials as slippery as metal. This rat in particular uses its claws and tail to gain traction as it quickly moves up and down the pole, surprising onlookers.
