November 1, 2016—In Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park, a young elephant was recently saved from drowning by a team from the Lindbergh Foundation’s Air Shepherd, an organization providing aerial surveillance for the protection of wildlife from poaching. While on a ground-based survey, team members saw the elephant trapped upside down in a water trough. With the help of their colleagues, they were able to help the elephant back to its feet, saving its life.
