Can you guess what creature
scientists found on a recent
Nautilus expedition off the
California coast?
a. octopus
b. cuttlefish
c. child's toy
d. none of the above
Answer: d. none of the above
This is a stubby squid. It looks like
a cross between an octopus and a squid.
Scientists debate whether it’s more
closely related to the cuttlefish or the squid.
It lives on the seafloor,
burrowing in the sediment,
and keeps its eyes poking out to spot prey.
