September 9, 2014 - In June 2013 the U.S. National Institutes of Health announced it would retire most of the federally owned
chimpanzees used in biomedical research in the country. This left about 310
chimps in need of relocation. More than a hundred of those
chimpanzees have found a home in Louisiana's
Chimp Haven, where they will live out the rest of their lives in retirement.
