Today, we're going to Eastern Peru.
National Geographic's Edgar Leyr had been conducting the first-ever survey of the PuiPui Forest in Eastern Peru, trying to find out the health and status of the amphibians and reptiles there.
Around 9pm one night, Edgar and his team stumbled onto something amazing....
SOUNDBITE: EDGAR LEYR: We just discovered a new species of frog, of the genus Pristamantis.... this frog was sitting on a fern leaf, approximately one meter, 30 above the ground.
The team went on to discover 7 more new frogs and a lizard.
