As the first snowfall of autumn arrives, Bertie lands in the western Hudson Bay following a tip that a pack of gray wolves is hunting polar bears—an interaction that has never been filmed before and one that questions the notion of who is predator and who is prey. Despite our historical demonization and extermination of wolves throughout much of North America, our intimate encounters with the wolves reveal how they’re surprisingly similar to us. Working together as a family with a fiercely loyal spirit, we see that pack living is key to their success. This strategy is what allows them to take on the Arctic’s top predator, who is many times their own weight. After some early success in filming them, the team loses the wolves in this vast territory. Will they achieve their ultimate goal of filming the whole pack on a hunt?
