Kiss for the Camera: Watch What Happens

On February 14, 2009, more than 40,000 people kissed at the same time in Zocalo, Mexico City's main square. It set the Guinness World Record for people kissing simultaneously. Using the square as a backdrop, filmmaker Maida Hals explores the act of kissing in her short documentary Besos en el Zocalo. Why do we kiss? Who do we kiss? What does a kiss mean?

The Short Film Showcase spotlights exceptional short videos created by filmmakers from around the web and selected by National Geographic editors. We look for work that affirms National Geographic's mission of inspiring people to care about the planet. The filmmakers created the content presented, and the opinions expressed are their own, not those of the National Geographic Society.
