Her Cooking Offers a Taste of India to People Far From Home

Filmmaker Claire Molloy profiles one woman's mission to connect people through food. Harpreet Sohal moved from India to the U.S. with her three children when she was 32 years old. She has since started a family business cooking traditional Desi food out of her kitchen in Queens. Her sister helps her prep, her daughter labels, and her husband delivers these delicious meals to people all over New York City looking for a taste of home.

The Short Film Showcase spotlights exceptional short videos created by filmmakers from around the web and selected by National Geographic editors. We look for work that affirms National Geographic's belief in the power of science, exploration, and storytelling to change the world. The filmmakers created the content presented, and the opinions expressed are their own, not those of the National Geographic Society.

Know of a great short film that should be part of our Showcase? Email SFS@ngs.org to submit a video for consideration.
