Follow Adventure Kayakers Through the Dangerous, Beautiful North

Four friends set out on a 621-mile expedition across the southern part of Baffin Island. Following ancient Inuit hunting routes, the journey included ski, river, sea kayak, and portage sections. Watch the group hand-build their own traditional kayaks (qajaqs) in this excerpt from Wazee Motion Pictures, and see more of the adventure unfold in the full documentary, Expedition Q.

The Short Film Showcase spotlights exceptional short videos created by filmmakers from around the web and selected by National Geographic editors. We look for work that affirms National Geographic's mission of inspiring people to care about the planet. The filmmakers created the content presented, and the opinions expressed are their own, not those of the National Geographic Society.
