A Poetic Journey Through Alaska’s Arctic

In “The World Beyond the World,” filmmaker Paxson Woelber leads us on an adventure through the striking scenery of the Brooks Range in the Alaska Arctic. His July 2013 expedition covered 300 miles of remote wilderness. "The World Beyond the World" combines Woelber's stunning photographs with text adapted from conservationist Robert Marshall's Alaska Wilderness: Exploring the Central Brooks Range, a classic of environmental literature that chronicles an expedition from the 1930s. Together, Marshall’s words and Woelber’s visuals capture the beauty and remoteness of the Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve.
