- Paulinho Da Viola—"Talisman" - Paulinho Da Viola, one of the legends of Brazilian music, grew up in a musical family in Rio de Janeiro. As a child he would watch for hours as his father, a guitarist, jammed with Brazil's best musicians in his house.
- Rappin Hood—"Sou Negrao" - Brazilian rapper Rappin Hood combines hip-hop with samba in this homage to Brazil's great black musicians. He's joined here by samba singer Leci Brandao on this track from the 2002 album Sujeito Homem.
- Sergio Mendes, Black Eyed Peas—"Mas Que Nada" - Brazilian composer Sergio Mendes has been making international hits since the 1960s. In 2006 he teamed up with the Black Eyed Peas to record a new version of one of his bossa nova classics.
- Seu Jorge—"Tive Razao" - Brazilian samba singer Seu Jorge is known as much for his acting and sly covers of David Bowie classics as he is for his own music. But back home in Rio, he's a star in his own right, as this track from his 2005 release, Cru, demonstrates.
