Watch: Elephant Attack From a Survivor’s POV

June 30, 2016 - A near-death experience with an elephant is recounted. Renowned field biologist Ian Redmond has been monitoring the elephants in Mount Elgon National Park in Kenya safely for 36 years. But on a recent trip he nearly lost his life when one elephant broke from the herd and charged him, knocking him to the ground and sending him to the hospital in a stretcher. In this video, Redmond recalls the incident, which he captured on camera, and hypothesizes the reason behind the attack.
