See the Ancient Whale Skull Recovered From a Virginia Swamp

Osborne and a team of highly skilled divers went into the swamp to bring up the skull and try to piece together how it got there. Scientists know that the coast of the U.S. east of I-95 was under the ocean millions of years ago. But why it was such a hotbed for whales, sharks, and other marine species is still being studied.
