Naming Clouded Leopards
The scientists encountered many difficulties on their search for the clouded leopards. One particular difficulty was highlighted in their talks with the local villagers. Clouded leopards are so rare that there is no word for them in the local language. This made it hard for scientists to describe the kind of big cat they were searching for. A local man who was helping the scientists came up with a great solution to the problem by inventing a word that the villagers can use when talking about clouded leopards.
